These extension bars come in 10 inch and 5 inch lengths.

The retractor without bars has a maximum opening of 12 inches. With the extension bars the maximum opens are: 17”, 22”, 27”, 32” and 37 inches. The bars can be extended at any time. The screws at the end of the retractor must be removed along with the divider plate, the desired extension bar is screwed on completely leaving no gap between the bars and the plate and screws replaced and tightened. One should estimate the desired opening dependent on donor size and start with that combination. The designer’s recommendation is to start with an opening of 27 inched for adult donors and add or remove extension bars to provide maximum necessary exposure without long retractor bars extending off the field.
